Gentlemen in the south have long adored the ladies raised with genteel breeding and delicate charm known as Southern Belles...the Pirates who plunder those southern shores in the Gulf of Mexico have their own breed of women who tickle their fancy, lasses who's perserverence to succeed hits you with a  storm surge of fury..The Hurricane Belles...

These ladies  have the dual purpose of not only being the training team for new recruits, but the place for girls who want to derby for fun but not commit to the Lafitte's competitive schedule,girls who need to get their skills up to speed, and the place for injured skaters to rehabilitate. Eventually it will also be a home for retired skaters to keep their bodies and skills sharp. We want these skaters to feel like they are part of the family, and the addition of this team will allow that team feeling, not just a "go to the corner and figure it out  yourself " type deal.
